W123 hood latch springs

I just had a friend who repaired my hood latch braket and springs. The question I have is where on the bracket does the spring connect to? There seems to be 3 slots where the spring connects on

Are you speaking of the hood latch at the front of the car in the Grill area or are you speaking of the area where the hood hinges are?

Look for the wear mark from past use. Also, you could simply try the easiest and least stretching ones first.

In this thread 2 members claim in the lowest position.

Hood Hinge springs.

I go by 300Dman on benzworld.org Post number 2 is my post. Looks like on mine I used the middle hook. There is a picture. More important it has the hood position which is just enough room for you to get your hand in there to hook it that way you need little tension to hook the spring on.

Follow up to that issue. My friend welded the bracket for the check strap pin holder that was broken off the body I assume. Is it possible that wires could have been damaged behind the bracket as my windows dont work anymore and central vacuum does not work also. Big problem!!!!
