No one likes to look at the long term anymore. Cars have become disposable.
An 86 Marquis w/200K in Good Condition is worth $575 An 86 300SDL w/200K in Good Condition is worth $4175 Which one would you take on a cross country trip

I've been pushing the diesel idea on just about everybody, just about every day. I frequently tell people about the possibility of cheap (10-15c a gallon) WVO systems.. bio-diesel, and ease of repair for most problems (plus style!). No converts yet, unfortunately.. though some are HIGHLY considering it.. mostly due to the character that the W123's have.
Take a look at cars these days. A Hyundai Sonata looks almost identical to the modern Benzes, or the XG Hyundai for Jaguars. Some rear-ends of modern "luxury" cars are almost indistinguishable from, say, Honda Civics. Gone are the days of fins on cars, chrome, headlight bezels, or engines that last over 200,000 miles. No, today, every car built, is made to copy someone elses design. Yet another selling point for when I try to push the W123's and 126's.. uniqueness. |
