Hi all,
I convinced my wife that an old diesel MB would make the ideal safe, economical kid transport. Well, my wife loves the 300sd I found for her, so almost all is good. I'm still wrestling with attaching the car seat tethers to the hat rack (rear shelf). It turns out that 84 up w126 bodies had threaded attachment points riveted to the metalwork under the hat rack for this very purpose. (Way ahead of their time. Most cars and kid seats started coming out with these attachmnets around 200.) Unfortunately for me, the hardware that was to attach to these points came with Mercedes car seats and is no longer available from the dealer. I'm pretty sure that I need M7 bolts to attach to these points. (M6 falls through and neither M8x1 nor M8x1.25 go in.) Anyone know if these are M7 that I am looking for and what the pitch is? How about a supplier for M7 hardware? Ideally, if anyone has old Mercedes car seat hardware that they wouldn't mind parting with, let me know.
Thanks all,
Barry
