As I always say, the Opposite of "Perfectionist" is "half-assist", so there's nothing wrong with doing it right...OCD be damned...:)

Rained all day again but did find the EGR before getting soaked...not sure if it was a case of bad things happening to good parts or vice-versa but something there is just not the same anymore...thanks for the links and advice guys, read up on adjusting the trans and checking vacuum, will get a gauge---Mity Vac if I can find one such----and trace the vac. Still sloppy as all but if it checks out on the vacuum end it's fiddle with modulator time ...once it dries off a bit. Next is checking boost and will be careful to use a boost gauge b4 doing ANYTHING as per Mr Bonehead...jeez, what else can I complain about here....hmmm, nothing, must be a good day! Many thanks, Enjoy!...off to read some more...
