Quick Timing Chain Question
I just got the timing chain for the 83 300SD. It came with the link that you crimp the new chain together. Where can I get a link to hook the old chain to the new chain to pull the new chain in. I looked several places and all I saw was the permananent links and not the removable master link.
Thanks for your help. Rodney |

Gasser chain
I also heard that you can use the master link from a gasser as it is slightly lighter and easy to install and has the slip on clip style retainer.
When I did mine I just inserted the new master link and pulled the chain through. There is very little side to side on the chain so it shouldn't fall out but then maybe I just got lucky...

"I also heard that you can use the master link from a gasser"
I've heard that too. Its such a bugger to get that new side plate on there (pull the new chain through) and then take it off and put it on again, I gota look into that "gasser link"
