Oops, I just found this thread! You must have posted during my internet blackout before I got it at home.

HERE is a recent picture of my air filter setup. The one in the picture greasybenz posted was waaaaayyyy too small and was a pretty bad restriction. The later picture in my gallery was a much better filter.

"BTW, the stock design is a cold air system, which most of these kits are not."

I have also realized this and have replaced the custom setup with a stock filter housing from an 80' 300SD. I chose this because it does not have the oil-seperator built into the housing. Since I have yet to find ANY oil-seperator that works worth a cr@p, I'm venting straight to the atmosphere (road draft).

The second reason I chose to switch back to a stock filter housing was to make room fo a future intercooler where my filter was. i could not find a practical way to keep using the big filter with the powersteering pump in place.

I'll take a picture on sunday and put it in my gallery.

HERE is my gallery showing how I got rid of the "old" custom air-filter. I still need to find an air tube and pickup funnel.

If I didn't have an oil seperator and did what you did, I could probably get some extra propulsion from my oil breather tube!
