1977 300D Speedometer Cable Removal at Tranny end

I checked the archives with min results. I am trying to remove the speedo cable at the tranny off take or gear house. Loosened 10mm clamp bolt. Cable will not pull out. I do not want to pull on it real hard. Last time I did this the cable end just came out. Exiting cable end spins around 180 degrees or so but will just not pull out readily

Is there a chance it is seased? There is another 10mm bolt holding the housing to the tranny.

Please advise as to how to remove without damaging the housing the cable is slid into.

Spray some PB blaster in there and let it soak for a few, then wiggle the cable as you're pulling it out. I did mine recently and it felt stuck at first but gave way after some PB and a little bit of wiggling. You could try helping it with a long broadend screwdriver but it should pull out eventually.
