Just did my passenger side axle

Yeah I just replaced the passenger side axle on the 82 300TD. I got ready to do the switch out and realized I did not have the 14mm Hex key to even start the job. Luckily Napa had one and a buddy lives right next to it picked it up and brought it over. He said I could keep the wrench if I swapped his Diff fluid out of his 85 300D. I said sure...I seriously believe it was original to the vehicle, it smelled like my grandmas feet after a long day at the beach (low tide)...SO I drain the fluid on his..(all of this while MY car is up on jack stands) and fill it with the approved oil over at NAPA. and leave the pan out next to my car while I do the axle, dude, I stank for three days... My wife wouldn't come near me...But the axle is in and she runs great. $76 bucks from Advanced (reman)!!!

btw used Napa Premium Performance gear oil like 80- 85W from the specs at the AP store.

Thumbs up

I've had all kinds of oil in my hair, it's nasty crap. You go to shower and the water turns BLACK from your head alone.

I've been real lucky there....never got anything worse than a little dirt into them. Maybe its the saving grace of being nearsighted and wearing glasses.
