purple cleaner from Castroil alkaline based cleaner works great will remove wanted surface "IE wax ,first layer of paint, skin makes your hands slimy." also so be careful with it if using undiluted.
To clean work cloths that have gotten oily I soak in a bucket of hot water and automatic dish washing soap there again this is a alkaline based soap rinse well and run through wash.
Oil spills on shop floor get a news paper or card board to soak up then wiped up with rags my floor is smooth they got a little carried away with the power trowel and it is dark gray almost black in spots so oil does not soak in .

i try like hell to not get fuel oil on my skin. i did once and i broke out in hives.

everywhere.

itchy hives.

big red itchy hives i'm a bather, not a showerer, which may explain the whole body and not localized thing.

but as for oil, spray it with simple green straight from the bottle, have a cigarette and then spray the bejeezus out of it with the pressure washer.

repeat next week...

and never spray a dodge neon with a pressure washer. never.

Anyone know a good way to get it off of carpet? I was testing my car with the instrument cluster removed and completely forgot about the oil pressure sender!!! Yeah, a quart of freshly changed synthetic all over the foot area. I got most of it sopped up but doesn anyone know a way to get the residue out?

Synthetic

Try the brand of Orange hand cleaner from Auto Zone (With fine Italian Pumice) on a section of the carpet in an area that you don't care about(first)
[disclaimer]
(you should not have any problem)
I have used that product to sucessfully remove roofing tar from carpet in the
house (Ask your wife, significant other or girlfriend about the penalty for not
getting the black goo out, I was desperate)

Maybe a steam cleaner and a shop vac?

I do know synthetic motor oil is hard to get out. On Christmas eve I had an little failure of an o-ring on my motorcycle, soaking me from head to toe in oil. After trying to wash my pants twice, I through them out. I've gotten most of out of my leather jacket buy repeated use of leather cleaner. I'm still trying to get the dark spots off the dull black plastic parts of the bike.

Find a janitorial supply store near by they will give you the good stuff. You may have to tell them you own a car detailing service, some won't sell to the public.
A garden sprayer and a strong shop vac make an acceptable extractor.

"Grease, tar and oil stains require strong degreasers to be completely removed from thick carpet and velour upholstery. Over the counter products do not have the chemical concentration necessary for this job.

There are endless causes of stains, and they appear everywhere in our daily lives. Wouldn't it be great to have a method of removing them without spending a lot of money? The secret is in the formulations. Professional products are designed to be effective and economical. They are more concentrated than products sold to the general public, which gives you total control, as well as the ability to use a single product to perform many jobs."

I've noticed other people talking about having to wear gloves when fueling.
I never realized diesel fuel was a problem like that.

I remember when I was working construction, we used it to oil the plywood forms,
which we were using to build a concrete dock.

One skanky chick on the crew used to rub it all over her body, as suntan lotion.
