Blowing fuses every day
The fuse that handles the horn, heater and I think trani only lasts for a day and it's gone again. Is the wire leading down to the trani coming from the kick down switch under the throttle pedal? Could that wire be shorting out along side the trani case?
Going broke buying fuses! |

clean elctrical plug on monovalve and you can try to unplug the kickdown switch. also important clean out the fuse terminals in the fuse box and use brand new fuses to replace. (i kept blowing old corroded fuses in mine...)

John,
Try disconnecting the consumers one at a time that the fuse that blows out supplies current to. When the fuse stops blowing, you have the culprit. P E H |

At least your blowing the frequently, makes for much easer diagnostics. I keep blowing fuse 12 I think (stop lights, IP, window relays). It happens every 3-4 months so its been kinda hard to fix.

If this fuse has the blower motor on it, try this for a diagnosis:
Turn the climate control system completely off so that the blower will not operate. Run the car for a few days like this (hopefully it's not too cold...........I recently did it for a month), and check the fuse. If it's intact, then the blower motor is drawing too much current for the fuse. You need to remove it and clean and lubricate the bearings. |
