I did all cleaning and regreasing of my sunroof tracks , tube and cable, per Kent Bergsma's ************** manual...
I replaced the motor with a newer one and a good fiber gear from the u pull it. But I can't get the cable to catch in the motor now that it's all put back together. Does anyone have experience with this? Last few final steps for sunroof maintenence. HELP! aa

Seein as how no one is asking any more questions, I'll try.
I've done the sunroof cable job just once. It went well without issues, pretty straight forward. So... Is the cable up in there at all ? Or, is it still out of the tube and you can't get it to feed. Hope that makes sense. |

YES makes sense........
It is in the tube just through the other back end, and it caught for a 1/2 second then it no longer catches......

When I replaced my motor, I noticed that the cable went through the gearbox. At fully closed position, the cable was still engaged. When the motor runs, it spins the feeding "gear". If it is out of that gear when the sunroof is closed, then you don't have it fed in far enough.
Maybe the cable tube is misaligned, or the cable itself is now broken? Last edited by 1983/300CD; 01-16-2006 at 10:39 AM. |
