Video 350SDL topping out. A must see!

RARE: Video '90 350SDL topping out. A must see!

http://www.zippyvideos.com/4658263373460476/350end2/*dslbnz

The next time you see me, it won't be on the road if I keep this up.
Regardless, I sacrificed my conscience for the sake of compiling data. I felt the acceleration simulator wasn't enough.

Enjoy.

How NOT to buy a MB Diesel:
Know little or nothing about diesels or Mercedes Benz.
Get the WVO fever.
Drive 70 miles to a used car lot in the country.
Buy the car without having it inspected, because it seems like a good idea at the time....
I'll be back. I'm gonna need help.
I love this car already!

Well, I was able to use my camera to get you that clip, today. The ride was very tight. It was as if the entire vehicle hunkered down to the ground, begging for greater velocities, and tighter curves. Great downforce, although I left the bellypan off underneath after changing the oil over to a full synthetic blend.

The highway was completely empty, so no reckless attempts. Dry, clear, sunny, unusual 54 degree temps. Perfect day.

And yes, jesterb, the car did seem to want to keep pulling. I pulled the plug.

Apparently you are not aware of speed limits. Do you think it's neat risking people lives just so you can get a video of your speedometer?

What in God's name is wrong with you?

115 really isn't that fast for a W126. Considering euro versions of these things topped 160 and I am sure saw 130ish speeds on the Autobahn all the time.

Still a cool video.

"Still a cool video."

Yes, that's what the judge is going to say, right before he throws his arse in jail.

What an idiot.

Oh lighten up.

You won't go to jail for only 115. Maybe a fine or temp loss of license. It depends on how good your lawyer is.

I already explained the conditions in my 2nd posting. If you're looking for a heated response, or spark convoluting diatribe you won't get it, here.

I know what I did was illegal, but the conditions safely permitted it. I was not endangering anything/anyone in anyway.

Oh don't waste your time responding, DslBnz.

Isn't this the same 350 that is sucking oil? I thought it was off the road? Did you finally fix it?

You're completely delusional. If you tried to make that argument in open court, your lawyer would resign on the spot, and the judge would throw you in jail, with no bail possible.

Your IP address probably has already been sent to appropriate state police offices, and they will pursue it.

Geez.

Joe

Unfortunately, no. This is a different 350. One with the original engine still under the bonnet. I am driving this temporarily (EGR-Less), to evaluate its roadability, and to give it some excercise. It keeps the miles off my own cars, and takes the brunt of winter's salty edge while my others nest in a warm garage.

My OWN 350 may be going "under the wrench", shortly. A removal of the head to assess damage, and a possible exchange to a 3.0 liter shortblock. It is not priority one, but why should one car be used as a paper-weight? I also have two fenders that either need to be replaced, or alternatively cut two pieces of sheet metal, and weld and replace the deep-seated rust on each side from the spot where the rubber gasket sometimes seperates between the bumper cover and the fender.
