My 87 300DTD has sat for 2 months without being started. It is inside and the battery has been disconnected. Previous to this it was started and driven everyday for 10 months and ran perfectly always starting after turning over only once or twice. I tried to start it yesterday and it will not start just crank over. It almost started a couple of times before I ran the battery down.Today I installed a freshly charged battery ,checked the fuses (all good) and I have replaced all within the last year. I replaced the pre glow unit and still won't started. Also I loosened the fuel line at the main fuel filter to see if I have a flow of fuel and I do. The visible fuel filter is real clean as all filters were changed about 6 months ago.
Can anyone give me some guidance here I am not sure what to look for now as I have exhausted my troubleshooting.
This car has sat this long before as do a couple of other MB diesels and all start up easily ---although I know they like to run everyday
