I dont think you can do that on the MB's. You can on some of the American units.

i am looking for information on a pre-83 VIN that neither the dealer nor the sec. of state can find any information on. according to everyone we've talked to, there is no record of this car anywhere.

can you suggest someplace to look or would you be willing to take a look-see at it here and see if you cant recognise it from someplace?

Did you try the website listed in Robert's post above? Put a WDB prefix ahead of the VIN you have to make 17 characters.

bump for attention of those that have acces to EPC

my interior does not to appear to be "java" its palomino so ive been told no evidence of it being switched out ever, code 54? ook.. i know i have cruise control since i took the control box out and other things.. weird

i tried that and it did not yeild any results- i have identified parts of the vin, but only the first few numbers- this car seems to be a mystery. i am hesitant to post the vin online or to pm it about, due to the fact that i have no idea who will have acess to it and what sort of damage could be done with that information.
