I'm getting a little off topic here, but my theory is the reason Mercedes-Benz started to no longer install dipsticks and make transmission fluid change intervals longer is so they could sell you a new transmission every 100K miles. Most people who drive know nothing about cars and think that a new tranny every 100K miles is fine. They don't know anything about regular 15-30K transmission fluid and filter changes and that doing that could greatly extend transmission life. It wasn't a stupid move by MB, but rather an unscrupulous one. It's all about making money.

So why don't you grizzled veterans, cut some of the new guys a break. Maybe one of our professional MB Techs, would like to say something about it, because there is a correct way to do this and may save someone some grief down the road. Just screwing the bolt back in ain't the right way, especially if someone has been there before. Again, depends on the car. :D

In most cases, that torque converter will have an internal hex, threaded plug with a metal seal. The plug on the torque converter is the same type as on the transmission pan. The seal should be renewed and the plug torqued to 14Nm.
