Engine idles fast when warm
My 84 300d turbo idles fast when warm. When i start it and let it idle to warm up, this does not happen. After it is driven and before being turned off, it will slowly rev up to around 2200 RPM. Doesn't have a problem shutting off. Also, i noticed when it is shut off, there seems to be something spinning for a few seconds. Sounds like somethings rubbing up front. I have noticed several times a slight smell of burning clutch or brakes or something.
Sound familiar to anyone?

Hmm..., I don't know what would cause that, but my car sometimes shakes pretty violently when it's warm, although it doesn't do that cold. Actually, it only seems to do it after lengthy highway trips, and not all the time even then. Lengthy being 100 miles or so.
Is there maybe too much fuel going into your engine at these times when it idles to 2200? I'm by no means an expert, so hopefully someone with greater knowledge will reply. I'm curious about this now.
