Learned something about coolant today...

A few years ago I changed from standard green coolant over to the orange stuff. Well, today I had some over heating issues. As we started pulling hoses and pulling the thermostat my 2 diesel mechanic sons start chewing me out. Apparantly, when the orange stuff gets old, it breaks down and turns into mud the likes of which I'd never seen before. Even with the thermostat out, the car runs too hot, telling me that I have this brownish goo all throughtout the cooling system.

Now, the orange stuff is probaly great if you keep to a good maintenance schedule and flush it every year or 2. But if your the forgetful sort like me, you may want to think twice. Looks like I have at least 3 cooling systems to drain and flush.
