Does anyone know about how many of these later model diesels were ever made? I was looking on eBay for a second 300 SD and I noticed that alot of people were parting out perfectly fine Benzes. I just think this is sad since they don't make them like this anymore and once they are gone then they are gone. Anyone know about how many were made from lets say 78-85?

Many, I don't think you'll have to worry about finding an SD. Now an SDL (300 or 350) or even a 350SD would take some effort to track down that works...

I'd like to have a 350SDL with SLS, power rear seat, heated on all four, that's black on black... But the chances of that are SLIM.
