Have you shopped around for different insurance? Seems like when you own so many cars it would be less, not more, per car because you're ostensibly driving each one of them less.
What ins. company is it, if I may ask?

i have
i have allstate.... but kentucky is messed up we have a law
that says they have to replace all cracked windows for free so we really get ripped for car ins.... i know there are people who collect cars and drive a different one every day.. there has to be a way to get car insurance and not get ripped off ![]() |

Whoa Brian, that's probably worse than what a 18 year old would pay for a new Corvette Z06

Liberty Mutual eez goood!
I had Travelers for about 25 years. Then switched to LM and saved 50% on my car insurance. Just switched homeowners to LM and saved 35% on that. Check them out.

I would recomend Geico if they are available in your state. I have at any given time from 3-6 cars + harley. They are without exception the lowest. They have pretty good customer service and adding a car takes generally about ten minutes. Be sure to ask for the bare minimums and add yourself that coverage that you want. They will try to load you up with a bunch of junk coverage that you will never use. All this info goes into the toilet if you have even the slightest moving violation with them. Next best with 1 ticket that I have found is State farm. Hope this helps.

I actually got a quote for a 17 year old driving a Viper once. ![]() ![]() Decent coverage is expensive in New England, more so if you are under 25.

before the divorce i had a 20 year old who had
driven my car ins up to 900 dollars per month... but now that the wife left me and I am all alone... i fell that even 140 a month is a bit much.... I will start calling around... i may have to move across the border to indiana.... i here its less over there.... 1996 i had 2 volvos both were 1986's and 2 drivers (the wife and i) and we paid 25 bucks a month for car ins... its absolutely rediclous today.... ![]() |

i live in indiana. i am not sure what i pay, but it is enough to give pause. and the cost of plates for an old car was $25/ yr for it seems decades and now it is near $70. so it is taking a lot of the fun out of accumulating old cars, that is for sure.

Insurance is lot like women....can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em! I think the big rip is liablity insurance on multiple cars....you can only drive one at a time! Liability insurance should cover the driver in whatever car he/she happens to be driving....insure the driver not the car. I can see seperate replacement/repair insurance on each car itself and the cost based on the car itself.
Shop around, keep your driving record clean, take the defensive drivers course, combine home/personel/auto insurance coverage and keep shopping around. I've been with same company for 9 years, every year it's "we have to slightly raise your rates"....every year I hand him a new quote for the same coverage, for less money....meet it, beat it, or say goodbye! Don't tell "your agent" you have a better deal, get it in writing and SHOW HIM....now, does he want to make part of something or all of nothing! BTW...can't you waive off the auto glass replacement clause? (that sounds like some law maker has a chain of glass shops! Bet your state has high auto glass replacement costs too...why not, you gotta do it and the insurance company pays for it with your money. I just love a good law that "helps" everybody!)

I agree with Ralph, do some shopping around. I ran into this several years ago, with State Farm I believe, found that Prudential would do the exact same coverage for two cars as State Farm wanted for one. If I recall, it doesn't have much to do with the "brand" of insurance but depends on the underwriters in your area. In fact, it might be a good idea to shop around every time you renew.
I agree with Brian on the coverages. Beware of "discount" coverage that would literally leave you with next to nothing if something major happened and you couldn't work. The main thing I want to cover is me as sole breadwinner. The car is a thing that can be replaced. It is a good idea to see what all of your policies cover.

Call Liberty Mutual they will give you a discount if the car is not used to drive to work AND will give you an additional discount if you put less than 3000 miles a year on a car. good luck!
