Peak horsepower is at about 4400 rpm, after which the torque will drop off substantially........so........it's unlikely that the engine will climb much above this level when pushing air at 100 mph or so.

As for the redline where the engine won't tolerate additional speed........that's more of an uncertainty. Brandon has run them over 5K without any consequences.

Speaking of Brandon, what's happened to him? I saw one of his old posts and he was not listed as being a "valid" member anymore.

Hopefully I won't get in any trouble for saying this but he's still really active at the "other forum".

I've never had my W123 to 100 yet....and in no rush to do it either....my W116 has been to somewhat over 100mph once...personally the consequences of getting caught weigh too heavy on me these days..or of something going wrong..I guess that comes with getting older...in my 20's I've hit 150+ on several vehicles....in my 40's the thrill is no longer there. Its been over 15 years since i've found out exactly what any of my vehicles could do if pushed...Thats an early sign of geezing isn't it?

Brandon's gone? I was hoping to see another one of his 0-90mph straight down the mountain runs. 45 to 90 in .07 seconds, or whatever it was. That was pretty intertaining. The gravity assisted 0 to whatever runs are always fun to watch. It would have been nice to see him hook up to a dyno; I'm guessing 700-800 hp the way it pulled from 70-90.

Is that the kid that would put videos up of him trashing his SD, tearing up lawns and construction sites, and other mayhem? I wasn't to happy seeing that. Not too big on vandalism myself.

Mr. Carlton, I respect and value your input immensely, but I'm going to venture an opinion. I think it's rather unbecoming to accuse another forum member of the things you do, simply because it looks fishy. I may be missing out on something big time, but as a Moderator, people come and go, and I feel that it might be best if you were to just "watch the tide" as it were. Hope I didn't offend.

And out of curiosity, what the heck is this other site? Are we are war with em?

Is there another MB oil forum I am missing out on?
Hints on getting there?
