Release Bearing and other questions

So I have procured a low mileage 4 sp manual transmission to replace the sick 4sp man that is currently in Frau Frankenbenz. The replacement tranny is an earlier type with all the levers up. My sick tranny has the reverse lever down. I have heard two different things about which release bearing to use - from the seller to keep my release bearing from my sick transmission and place it on the replacement transmission; from the forum to use the release bearing that is currently on the replacement transmission. Does anyone know with absolute certainty which should be used? I have the FSM for the transmission (Thank you! to the wonderful person who posted it on my last thread!) but I haven't been able to find the answer there yet. Also, aside from replacing the release bearing, the pilot bearing, and possibly the center support bearing, is there anything else I should look at while its apart? This release bearing bugaboo is the one thing that is keeping me from swapping it this morning. Thanks in advance.
