tested it this weekend...

i have been running vegie oil but I would buy it at sams club... but the
bar across the street from my neighborhood has started giveing it to me.. so
i guess i am running veggie now...

So this weekend i experimented... and I pluged the center of the tp and I ran the oil through it... boy did it come out clean... and it also removes water...

the only draw back is its very slow.... So i just took a 4 inch piece of pvc

and made it about 4 foot... I fill it up and by morning i have a few gallons of oil..... and its beauitful....

your wearing (maybe) the best cheap filter there is- blue jeans. i use them from thrift stores- $3 a pair, even the big ones. you can hang them any where and pump/ pour oil in them and catch it w/ a big funnel and a clean cubie. i use zip ties to seal off the leg bottoms. ran 2000 miles so far without clogging my 10 micron in the car. i wash them in the laundry tub with HOT water and dawn dish soap. don't put them in a dryer, fire hazard.

cheap and easy is good.

probably about 1

i went to the good will and bought a fairly new pair of jeans... they
were actually dark blue... and i would guess the micron rating is around
1. The bypass filter people are actually able to put a micron rating on toilet paper... and it is below 1.

the blue jeans are working a bit faster than the toilet paper....

although i think i might combine the two into one filter.....I cut the leg off of the jeans... and wire tied up then end... i put the other end over the top of a four foot 4inch pvc pipe... with a hose clamp... the leg is about 30 inches long so it hang well into the pipe and holds a good bit of oil....I think i will put a roll of toilet paper on the end of the 4inch pvc.... and double filter...

but it will be slow.... i will probably have to dribble oil into the top...

i dont think you can put a generic rating on jeans, as that varies with weave, wear and weight. ithey work well for the $$, though.
