300SDL engine shutdown problem, need part identified

Hi all,

I was poking around the engine compartment, trying to vacuum out the rats nest under the battery (yes the battery holder was rusted), and while trying to do the other side of the car I snapped off a vacuum hose that seems to facilitate engine shutdown.

I've got the CD manuals from classic benz, but I just got them today and haven't been able to identify the gray part.

Do I need to replace the gray bulbous part or do I just need a plastic hose or what?

Thanks all. Also, any other way to get below the fuse box to clean out the leaves without removing the fuse box...there are an awful lot of wires running near it and they don't want to move out of the way.
