Howdy,

I'm looking for a 300TD for a daily driver and I was wondering if all of them came with rear self-leveling suspension? Seems like NONE of the ads I've looked at mention rebuilt suspension components.

Thanks for any info.

Sholin

All 123 wagons do indeed come equipped with rear hydraulic self-leveling. It's not a complicated system, but ask the owner if they have ever changed the fluid and filter. The system consists of a leveling valve at the rear axle, a hydraulic pump, two struts and two accumulators. If the ride is bouncy, the accumulators are bad, if the rear end does not rise when you put a load on it, either the valve or the pump is bad.

Thanks for the FB Aaron, I'm still looking.

Any other item I should look for? I want one in pretty good shape as I'm going to drive it every day or two. My only requirement is fully functional A/C and sunroof.

Say, here's another Question: were all 300TD sunroof's manual/crank? I can see how it would be hard to hide the sunroof motor without a trunk.

2 more wagons

Just picked up a 300TD '85 and it has the self-leveling deal. I have a buddy and his has a slow leak. If he turns the engine off while fueling, he notices the rear end sinking. Mine is good so far.
In addition, both of us have manual sun-roof levers. Not as convenient as my '84 power one but feels nuclear proof.
