Going to do engine mounts and shocks - advice
Hi all
I bought 2 new engine mounts, the trans mount, two engine shocks, and two shock mount kits for my 82 SD. The air cleaner is vibrating at probably 25 feet per minute. It is crazy. It is so bad it broke the bracket. Thinking the broken bracket was allowing the vibration, I bought a new bracket and new rubber mounts, but the replacements did not help. The engine mounts have probably never been changed, and do not look to be in great condition, so I am changing them hoping that fixes it. I haven't adjusted the valves since before the winter, so I'll do that too. It runs great, so I don't think it is the valves. I've read and printed out the procedure from the CD, and searched the forum for anything I can learn before I start this job. It seems straight forward. Any tips on what not to do while doing this job? What to watch for? Tips and secrets?
