Emission Opacity Test
I have a 1885 300SD that has been stored for about 7 months. I have about 2 days to get an emission opacity test done on it. It has to be below 30%. When it was tested last year it was at 7%. It has only been driven about 4000kms since then. Is there anything I should be doing before I take the test?
I was thinking about filling it with 20% biodiesel mix. I have never put biodiesel in this car before. Could this cause a problem? Thanks |

Check the oil, check the coolant, check the air filter, and replace the fuel filters.
Then, take it out on the hightway and beat the snot out of it for 30 minutes right before you get it tested. B20 should make it better. |

I would drive it until it's fully warmed up and take it down there. Unless there is something wrong with the car it should pass fine especially since last year it had 7%.
Bio diesel can loosen up crud in your fuel tank so keep that in mind. |

adding a little BD would be a sound strategy.

30% is really difficult to fail. Your car would have to be smoking like a smokestack. But having your car warmed-up and up to date as far as maintenance is concerned is always a good idea.
