ALDA on non-turbo diesel

Guys;

I posted a message about the poor acceleration on my '96 E300D. In looking at other posts for similar problems I see reference to the ALDA but all the posts I have seen were for turbocharged engines. My car is not a turbo. Does it have and ALDA? Could that be the cause of acceleration lag?
