1992 300D Cruise Problems - not amp
I have recently replaced my amp with a rebuilt ProGramma unit for the 300D, and still no cruise. I was convinced this was the culprit as the cruise had been surging whenever a change in throttle was required, especially when it was cold outside, and finally a few months ago it just quit.
I should note that an indie did the evaporator job and got the AC running great. However, after I got the car back I noticed that the power antenna wasn't working and the cruise as well. I went back to get these taken care of, with the antenna simply left unplugged. The cruise was a different case, and they did look for a few hours with no obvious wiring culprits. I couldn't really pin it on them to fix, as it was acting up for 5 months prior to the AC repair. Can you guys think of something that would have been bumped/overlooked/unplugged when the dash was out (switch/speed sensor)? Everything else in the car works properly, including speedo and tach. My other question is regarding the actuator. I was going to test it with a 12V battery charger, but I was afraid the amperage was going to fry the actuator. Should I go ahead with about 10A on the battery charger to check the actuator motor and solenoid and the current draw? Last, what do you guess is the most likely culprit...switch, speed sensor, actuator or something else entirely? Jason
