Looks primo but he's asking $11,875 and it's a 350. Ah, to have Jay Leno's garage and put a 606 with intercooler into it.

I just sold my '91 with 128,000 original miles, with all service records since new for $4,800. It was as nice as this one.

The seller probably doesn't even know about the 3.5 reputation.

If he does, he's doing his best to gloss it over.

And yeah, that price is way too high. I'm thinking half or 60% of it is all he could get. But who knows. There's a guy in San Jose who has had a salvage title 300SDL on Craigslist for at least 6 months (that I know of) and he hasn't budged on price. No, check that, pretty sure he was at $4400, he's down to $4150 now. I almost went to look at it before I bought my current car but never did:

Yours was good looking. Maybe this guy is hoping for some tech millionaire to get a thing for it.

With a missing hood ornament, a chipped headlight, a huge rip in the seat, and since the paint isn't all that great, along with the AC and perhaps even the ACC not working as well, I'd only negotiate between $1500-$2500. Accordingly, i'm looking forward to his 1 year anniversary for having that AD sit on craigslist.

I'm not looking to even investigate that one. I was using it as an example of an owner looking for too much and sticking with his price. The ad is free after all.

So does this car have a electric LED screen type odometer that is connected to the ecu?

Odometer is part of the multifunction electronic display but the odometer reading is stored in the cluster just like with a mechanical odometer. Jeremy has a used spare cluster that shows the mileage racked up by the donor when plugged into his '96. Same with my '98s but the wagon shows a constant SLS fault on the sedan cluster.

Got a chuckle from this.
Dude thanks for the help in posting a link.

Might be about $500 over for a salvage title, but sounds like he's open to negotiation. Anthracite is always a pretty color.

1990 mercedes-benz diesel
condition: good
cylinders: 5 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: diesel
odometer: 267000
paint color: custom
size: compact
title status: clean
transmission: automatic

1990 Mercedes, turbo diesel. Engine is very good. Interior is very good, body and paint is very good. Needs transmission. Has new injectors and fuel injection pump and about 267k miles. If you can do transmission work this could be worthwhile for you.
There’s a transmission available here - https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/d/1992-mercedes-300d-25-engine/6351117349.html

1992 Mercedes 300D 2.5 engine, transmission and wheels/tires - $1 (San Jose)

I have an engine, transmission for that car for sale as well as a set of wheels with near new tires, same rim as the car.
Could be a nice little car for $251 and a few hours work.
