Wow I really love my diesel and DICK CHENEY!!??!!

Its a 1998 E300TD 224k plus miles. Just went thru my first tank of fuel.....572.8 miles city40% hyw60% I am just so impressed had to tell you guys. I will keep this car forever, well till the doors fall off. This is my first keeper diesel, because I bought a 1993 S350D Total POS!! Traded in 18 days after I bought it...sux 2-3qts. per tank of fuel. I bought because I thought all benz diesels were great, I was wrong, I lost $1,500 trading it in, but saved 8K in repairs. I bought a Honda. Well just last friday I sold the honda. And bought this one. Tranny, A/C Compressor, Injectors, glow plugs and tires were replaced 2 months before I bought it. You ask how would someone sell me this benz for 6K, when thats what they spent on it. Easy it was a company car for Halliburton Oil in Houston...they are super wealthy....its a write off.

Thanks DICK CHENEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, it was the one and only diesel they had the rest were C280s, S430s, E430s, and ML430s that were about to go to auction. Tells you something HUH! And they replace all the benzs with FORD EXPODITIONS!!!????!!!! Morons!!

I'm glad you like your car but the rest of your political posting makes no sense whatsoever. Thanking a man who no longer works there, misconceptions about business depreciation of vehicles, what is a write off?

Sounds like you got a good deal. Hope you enjoy the car.

Wow, $6K for a '98 E300 with 224K miles?! That's a killer deal, even with all those miles! I can't blame you for loving Dick!

He worked there when the car was bought. And they really don't care what they get for there cars at auction or elsewhere.
Write-off is for tax savings. When you make big money you will know.

The hint was this is a diesel discussion forum not politics. Please take that elsewhere.

(We will gladly congratulate you on a good deal on a nice car.)
