Seattle area MB mechanics, parts

I am buying my first MB in a few days, a 1976 240D with 200k. Anyone out there live in the Seattle area? I'm looking for a good mechanic (whom I will hopefully never have to visit) and a place to buy parts.

Benz Friends in Georgetown has a good reputation. I can personally vouch for Mercedes Garage in Bellevue - ask for Adam.

I'm also near Seattle. Yes, Benz Friendz has a great reputation but I haven't been there yet. I have used Performance Motors in Lynnwood for repairs and have been quite satisfied, and also Jim Startup's in Everett seemed to do decent work inexpensively. While this forum has proven invaluable and I've managed to fix quite a few things myself, I quickly learned that there were more repair jobs that I could NOT do myself (lack of tools, physical strength, time and/or knowledge) and ended up giving up and taking it into the shop. So it pays to have someone who actually knows how to (and is willing to) work on these things.

I mostly use buymbparts ("Rusty") for parts. Aurora Auto Wrecking near Greenlake has all kinds of old Mercedes parts but I've never been able to get any W115 parts there.

Send me a private message when you get your 240D and maybe we can get together to compare notes. There are several people around here with diesel W115's but I haven't connected with anyone yet.
