ok im really desperate. im gonna get towed if i dont hurry and i might lose the car for good due to lack of funds. i wanna be able to start my car with a screwdriver. it dosent matter how bad i mess the system up as long as i can get it home(i have a parts car at home ready to be used) basically if i can get the steering wheel free i can get it home. what if i cut the bar running from the ignition switch to the steering wheel shaft? will that free it? help is very appreciated

Cutting disc, cut through the ignition/wheel lock stem. Worked like a charm for the previous owner of my car. Not to hard to replace later either. Screw driver might do the trick as well.
