Hi, anyone venture a rough guess? Wondering if the new CDI will drive the price up/down on the 300DT
cheers and thanks |

Probably a bit. Real nice low mileage examples still sell for about $20k though.

I'd guess between $14k-16k for a '98 or '99 with < 100k miles.

Like with everything else condition is key. Miles also count. I have seen nice, one owner cars with under 80K go for over $20K and ones with unknown history with 250K go for well under $10K. So, probably mid teens is average for an average one with average miles. That's about what I have in my '98 after I did some fixing up to it post-purchase and it had about 115K on it when I bought it.

If you have an eBay account you can check completed listing on these models and get an idea of eBay activity, FWIW. (Sorry can't figure out Bride's password)
Though there are other markets for some better ones. Seems that the new CDI has brought several of these out of the woodwork over the past year or so, when I started looking. Less than 4,000 brought to US for each of those two years, so it is a very limited market. I'd like to think mine is worth more than mid-teens.

I'd also say low - mid teens for one in good shape with 100 - 150k. A lot of people want more than that for them but if you are patient you will find a good one for a decent price.
Good luck. Scott
