Oil In Line Between Alda And Overboost Switch
I've had my 1986 300SDL since January and have cleaned oil out of the vacuum line that runs between the ALDA and the overboost switch twice, and now there's oil in the line again. It's only a couple of drops that darken the line in a couple of spots each time, but what is causing this, what is the effect/significance of this, and what is the cure?
Thanks for your input.

the line from the alda is a pressure line. reads boost pressure in the intake manifold. oil can come from the air filter(crank case vent) or from the turbo oil seals leaking. check the oil seperator in the air filter housing, make sure its clean and the drain is not clogged.

I would think that, if you are getting a fair amount of oil pushed into that line, you should also start to see some blue smoke out of the tailpipe.
I would suspect oil separator too. Are you getting excessive blow-by? |

Its not very common to have oil from the banjo bolt to the overboot, but not from the overboost to the ALDA. Maybe some time in the past, someone bypassed the overboost and then repaired it. Hence the oil migration.
