Craig,
I got home from work this morning and put the voltmeter on my wife's Suburban. I got pretty much the same readings I'm getting on the MB. 11.3 volts with the engine shut off and 12.8 with the engine idling.

Seeing how those numbers match the ones on the MB, I guess I'm fine, for now. In addition to getting a VR to keep in the glove box, I guess I should upgrade my multi-meter.

Kay,

I agree with you on the pizza but not the sound at OSP. I was never at the old location but since the new building was designed for the organ, it should sound better.

I don't go there for the food, sometimes I only get a salad. But the Wurlitzer. Uh La La. I love the 32 Foot Diaphones that shake the building.

Not sure about getting there this year with the price of fuel. Maybe if I can get enough WVO.

Fire,

Looks like your meter may be the problem since U got the same readings on the Suburban. I bought a digital meter at Harbor Freight for about $10 and it reads on volts and ohms almost the same as my more expensive Radio Shack meter.

Good news, a new meter will cast a lot less than a new alternator. I agree, a spare VR is a good idea too.
