As the attached photos will show, the passenger side inner fender of my 1985 300D (CA version) has several large cracks or breaks. I photographed the cracks from above and from below, with a trouble light on the other side each time to shine through the cracks.

I can't figure out what might have caused this. It's been on the car for as long as I have had it (4 months). The PO never mentioned it but he was a short time owner and probably never saw it. By the looks of it (accumulated dirt), it happened a long time -- years -- ago. It doesn't seem to be doing any harm but I'm thinking about finding someone to weld it up.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?
