Intro - new 240D owner

Hey all,

Just a quick hello...I just bought a 1979 240D with 168k miles on the ticker. Mostly in great shape in and out...but am frantically searching the forums for as many trans-flare related and kickdown-lever/throttle-linkage adjustment posts as I can find. 2-3 flares pretty badly, kickdown does not engage, and it shifts 2nd-4th by the time I hit 30mph. Needless to say, the shift points at the moment don't exactly help the throttle response much.

I have a bit of experience with w201's and w107's, and am pretty active on 190revolution.net...my style is DIY everything I can (why buy tools when you can machine/weld your own?) and I'm stoked to finally join the bullet-proof-diesel club...

Aaron
