76 300d vacuum problems
having vacuum system problems, and don't know where to start. presently my engine shuts off allright. but the master lock system doenst work, and hasent since i've had it. i have a haynes repair manual, but its scant on details about the vacuum system, and I can't even locate the vacuum pump. any help please?

Start with these diagrams:
Vacuum Diagrams The vacuum pump is on the front of the engine, with a big line leading to the brake booster. The other vacuum devices are suppled by branch connections to small lines. |

how do i go about checking all the lines? on a side note, my windshiel wiper spray doesnt work either (but did when i got it) it sorta seeps out, is it a part of the vacuum system as well?

W123 Vacuum InterLock Diagram which is about the Door interLOCK system. Send me your regular e-mail address off-FORUM and I'll send you a higher resolution copy [just under 100K file size...MS Word] of the Vacuum InterLOCK system diagram I just created. The B&W diagrams can be difficult to interpret... so I think my diagram [in vivid color] might just help for your mid-70(s) MBZ.
I'm thinking of adding a single page of text with diagnostic and repair techniques for this same vacuum system. You will some of this already written into the diagram. All the best, Sam |
