Master lock vac switch.

I have been searching my car for vac leaks in regards to why my locks wont work it was because of a bad trunk element. Now when i lock my door when the is off i hear a hissing sound coming out from the master vac switch (the blk thing in the driver side door with 3 outlets) is it supposed to make that leaking sound? Is there an adjustment on that? By the way I took out the trunk element and blocked it for the time being. Any clues or advice would help......

The "leaking" sound is normal. The master switch is designed to vent the "lock" curcuit when the doors are unlocked and to vent the "unlock" curcuit when the doors are locked. Is the vacuum holding when the engine is off?

Thats what problem im running into now. for some reason i checked out all the elements and they seemed alright. Could be that I dont have the trunk lines blocked properly. And another thing the gas door element only has one outlet connected.

On some cars the fuel door actuator only has one line, it's spring loaded in the other direction. Does your fuel door actuator have one connection or two? Is there a disconnected vacuum line in the area?

You may also have a leak in one of the vacuum line connections under the floor mats. Do you have a Minivac to test the system?
