CDI Issues
No, I do not have one, but here is the question, these cars have been around for a while now, can anyone tell what specific isses have been identified with this car? Take the E300 96-99 and their o ring issues or glow plugs freezing in the head and other nagging problems as starting point.
I was in Abu Dhabi recently, noticed lots of MB CDI taxicabs at the airport, these were smaller 200 series CDI's but if they are being used as cabs perhaps MB has returned to reliability of 240D cars for that purpose. Vahe 240D 77 |

The 2.0L OM611 engines are pretty reliable as long as clean fuel is fed to them, put dirty fuel and its a nightmare with the high pressure CRDI system but that goes for all the CRDI system, the 2L is a nifty engine producing good torque at low RPMs and quite frugal as well.
