Phil at Fastlane (the forum sponsor) can help you with that - drop him a email as it's probably not a stocked part.

Replacing Window Slide

Thanks for the info on where to get the slides. I just picked one up at the dealership yesterday. $11. Anyway, I could use some advice on how to attach it. The arm that raises/lowers the window has a "rivet" at the end that fit into the old one. The new slide does not fit over that rivet. I've read another article about drilling out/grinding off the rivet and using a bolt. Anyone else have any war stories they're willing to share?
Thanks.

i did this last week. thats a great idea to switch to a bolt.

when we "tigged/migged" it the stud is steel and the arm is aluminum so we just built up the end of the stud on the plastic dohickey, or i jb weld is a possibility

I modified mine with some parts from home depot.
Ill attach some pics. I'm not sure of the part numbers... i did this over a year ago, ment to post pics back then, but forgot.

I went to home depot and got a small hitchpin the closest size they had to the rivet that came with the slider. i also got a clip to go through the hitchpin.

first thing i did was use a drimle to grind away the peened over head of the old broken slider. see pic one.

then used a drill to make the hole in the arm large enough for the hitch pin. pic 2.

then i took apart the slider clip and installed the hitch pin. pics 3, 4, 5.

the pic of the penny is because the hitch pin had alot of play in it and was twisting up and down... so inorder to take up the slack i took a penny and cut it (shown by the blue lines in the pic) and put it in one half of the slider, then put the pin through the other side of the slider and it worked like a champ. i put a little bit of lube in it. i think i used caliper slider lube, but i think graphite would work the best. then i cliped the silder back together.

i then slid the slider in the rail on the window and put the pin through the hole in the arm and used washers on ether side of the arm and the clip to hold it all together. pic 6.

then used my drimel to cut off the extra pin. pic 7.
