How are the fuel and return lines? Also check the braided injector return lines. How about the fuel tank cap? Do you get a "whoosh" sound when you remove the cap at fill up time? Does the air bubble in the primary filter increase in size?

The fuel and return lines seem ok as far as I can tell from looking at them. They are a little old and cracked, but not leaking. I tried taking the fuel fill cap off. It did not bring the car up to speed last time it was slow. And, there was no whoosh sound. The bubble in the primary filter will not go away completely but it does not get any worse when the engine is running/revving either.

Oh yea, and I put new lines between the injectors to replace the leaking originals when I started using bio-diesel.

The return lines are meaningless to solve your issue. You're looking for an air leak between the fuel pump and the injection pump. It appears that you're getting air, intermittently, in the fuel system while the vehicle is parked. Did you have the identical symptoms before changing the secondary? No worse and no better? |

Thought of another possibility.
Locate the vacuum hose that runs to the shutoff valve on the back of the injection pump. Pull this hose off the valve. Operate the vehicle and see if the symptoms remain. You'll have to shut the engine down using the underhood lever. |

Changing the fuel filters made no difference.

Brian Carlton You Rock!!! I just went for a test drive. And had a slowness episode. I pulled the brown vac. line from the back of the inj. pump and bingo. I was back up to speed. Thank you. There must be a vacume release for the ign. swich that is not working?

You've got an issue with the ignition switch that prevents the release of vacuum to the shutoff. Help is what we do here. |

What a great thread! The guru has spoken. Please don't go to open discussion Brian. We need you here.
