Angry climate control and lock problems

ok Ive gone thru everything with the mightyvac.
changed the 3 and 4 way connectors. Had good vacuum
with the green red (Climate control) but big leaks with the lock system.
I disconnected/blocked off the solid yellow line and left the yellow grey (vacuum canister) in place hoping that my climate control would still function. But NOOO... I tested all the vacuum dashpots in the cc system
and they all work ok (even the troublesome center pot)
Im not going crazy right?? The locks and CC system are isolated systems
and when blocked off at the check valve should function as such?
I think my master lock (driver door) is bad and will order one.
Why wont my CC system work?!

George

You should mention year, make, model with your question.

Checked fuses and did the contact cleaner thing.
I may spin em again to be sure but I think the fan is working
and the ccu detects the temp commands. I turn on the ac max and the
ac pump comes on. Select full hot and, lo and behold.... HEAT! but only
on defrost and outer vents. I can select anything and stays put on defrost.
I did have it working at one point but only briefly. The vacuum signal is
good at the first tee about 25lb hg.
I guess my question is where is the next place I should look? What should I dissasemble under the dash to find the other side of that pesky green/yellow line?
As far as the model it is a 81 300D automatic non turbo California model.

George

Hi all,

I'm having a very similar problem with my '85 190d. A/C works on MIN temp setting only and heater works on MAX temp setting only. I didn't notice it until just a few weeks ago when it started to get cold.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time.

Do you have the dreaded climate control servo? If so, when it fails, it defaults in the mode you describe.
