Hi Guys, this is my first post. I just acquired a 1983 300sd with a few problems. Here is one of the more interesting ones. When I turn on my lights, the side running lights come on like usual, but the low beams will not come on at all. The hi-beams work like usual, but again no low beams. Soooo... does anyone know whats up with it?

Forgot to mention, all fuses are new and in tact.

check resistance, make sure bulbs arent blown? also check that there is current on the low beam fuses when its on, if not bulbs.

Also just because they look good doesnt mean they are. Either test them all or replace them all.. Everyone will tell you its first step in buying old benz.

Check the pins on the connectors to the headlights. I have acquired a 126 where the PO swapped out his euro's headlights back to DOT's and didn't put the pins back into the block correctly. Wild shot - but covering the bases

i bet your bulbs are just shot on low beams. they always wear out first.
