Changed fuel filter, now engine won't start.

Hey anybody out there. I changed my fuel filter for the first time yesterday, primed the new filter almost to the rim with biodiesel and then threaded it back on. I have a 1984 300 SD, W 126. I tried a few times to start the engine today thinking it just had a little air in the fuel hose near the filter from the leakage during change yesterday. Thought it could prime right away from the newly filled filter. I was careful yesterday and tightened everything up. What did I do wrong and did I mess up the fuel hose system from trying to start it 3-4 times? Will it need to be flushed now? There is an 1/2 " air bubble in the transparent tubing leaving the fuel filter.
