Another...... Issue
so for the past 2 days now for some reason, my speedometer has been sticking. when i first start accelerating up until like 25 30mph it wont register, then all of a sudden it spikes up. It wont do it agian until the next morning. this is very frustrating cause i use the speedo and oil presure to determine were i should shift. Also when i was on a trip recenetly the speedo at one time was bouncing and wasent showing accuret. It was not horribly bad, but enough that u could tell it was bouncing around.. Any ideas? Graphite fix?
also sometimes the oil pressure gauge will stick up at 45 and then jump down to 30. so kind of the same problem any ideas??? has this happened or is this happening to anyone else

Sticky speedo cable. Find where it connects to the tranny, and spray in some lithium grease. Not sure what to do with the oil pressure gauge.

The speedo needle is driven by magnetic force. There is no physical connection between the needle and cable. If the odometer does not stop while you are moving, the cable should be fine.
Try tapping the dash above the speedo when it sticks. If that makes it work, you just need to remove the speedo, clean it's insides, and use a very light oil to lube the needle bushings. |
