All I Want for Christmas.....
...is this beautiful Ponton.
Hmmmm...what would I give up for this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=270032729023&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT |

Ha. If I owned that car it'd never see a drop of biodiesel. Hmm. Let me think of how to put this so I don't contradict myself. Granted, my '84 runs off bio and wvo, as did my '85. They both handle it well, no complaints and I've got the head off the '85 to prove its ok and I'm in it with these cars for the long haul. On the other hand, if I had that car it'd see nothing but premium diesel with fuel additive, plus it would have a nice warm garage and would never see a hint of bad weather.

That is a beautiful car!
I think the trick is to buy a fixer-upper. You could get one for 1/5 of that price or less. But then , of course, you'd have to be confident in your abilities and have the time to do it. One of those 190d's is on my 'to acquire when I have money' list.

Beautiful car! I know nothing of these older M-Bs -- what features does it have? I assume no A/C, has a manual tranny, what else?

I am trying to talk my wife into selling the E300 for this car.
For what ever reason it is not working very well. |

The 1961 we used to drive got about 32 on the road, and was fine for the old 55mph limit days. However it had shoe brakes all around and was no great performer in the stopping or acceleration departments. Might get 49mpg if dropped off a cliff, but no where else!!

From a 1976 300D test drive video in DIN (L per KM).
200: 25.8 220: 24.8 240: 22.7 300: 20.1MPG I don't think 49MPG is realistic, maybe 30ish if they are lucky. |

That is commonly referred to as a 0-60 maybe car. Or officially 0-60 in 60.
