Reasonable Labor Time to Change Engine Mounts
I am working through a series of problems with a 1996 E300 Diesel that is new to me. I need to replace the engine mounts and I wondered what would be a reasonable amount of time for an experienced mechanic to change them. Shop charge here is about $75 per hour for labor. As I have no experience with the local shops or this car, I cannot gauge what is reasonable.
Thanks for any advise.

Shadetree indy: Arm
MB Indy: Leg Stealership: Arm and Leg DYI: Priceless, except for time, brewski's etc.  Should be: DIY... Too many definitions of reasonable. One may take an hour per side, the other and hour total time. Call the dealer, and get them to quote you time and rate. Consider DYI and buy from FastLane. Consult the FSM and see how bad a job it is. On the 617 engines, it's not bad at all. V type engines are harder that the straight type, and FWD it the worst, IMHO.

1996 E300 Engine Mounts: warranty times are .8 for both mounts +.4 for vehicles with A/C- non warranty time would be 1.9hrs total
