![]() I'm certainly not trying to hide the fact that it's a diesel. I just figure the car will speak ... errrr, clatter, for itself when the engine is running. Anyone who knows automotive sounds will know right away what the deal is under the hood, and anyone who can't figure it out (oh man, I think you're timing is off or something! That sounds awful!) ... I don't care about them. ![]()

VERY few times I've seen the factory debadge cars. If I order anything new again, it will be. It's usually a zero cost option, for stealth. My stripper 380SE with a 5.0 is one now.

Was it not a special option with the 6.9 to have the Mercedes badge removed at a cost of a $1000.-?
If I paint my car in the future I will leave the DIESEL badge off, I like the clean look.

Don't know if it cost that much. Anyone can take them off with some dental floss or light fishing line. The trick is the paint has to be good or you will see it!

As far as diesels go I like the european look, just the model number: 300d all by it self. I've never been a fan of "diesel", "turbo diesel", "turbo", or "2.5 trubo). It is repetitive, if you don't know what the "D" means too bad and it isn't really a good thing (not fast). 2 of my cars are euros so they only say 300d. If the blue car gets painted I'd like to debadge it, it makes the rear boot much cleaner.
Anyone know why so few 123's (us-spec) were debadged? Were owners really proud about owning a diesel? Maybe it was a status thing, I dunno.

I'm sure some of you guys have toyed with cutting an old "turbodiesel" badge and making a "biodiesel" badge instead?
