oh yea, if i was blackE55 with that v-12 bi turbo i would soo badge that car E320 just so te viper guys would laugh when they line up with me ^_^

His car would need S430 4 Matic on the trunk for max affect!

Just never up badge a car, I will make fun of you if you do without mercy. I love seeing random AMG badges stuck on MB's. Its like we feel left out the Honda guys get to stick there type R badges on everything.

In that circumstance, I'd be the guy to walk up to you and say "Nice 500E!", to which you'd reply "How'd you know?"
Hmm... lets see, the special head lights and fogs in the bumpers, flared out fenders", it's the little stuff like that that tells you it's a 500E, and not a 260E or 300D.

No MB enthusiast would be fooled by such a thing, the point isn't to fool you guys. Its the kid in the Mustang or old guy in the Vette!

My idea is far from original, I saw a black 500E on I95 that had E320 on the trunk. The fender flares give them away, I was like yeah sure I'll buy that.

Under-badged. Nothing like a 240D badge on my blue car to hide the extra 50 ponies, or a 300SD badge on a 6.9.

Only debadged if it's from the factory like that. I have two vehicles that are factory debadge.

Badged.....especially if they are a bone stock oil burning, people transporting
4 door sedan or MB station wagon.

The clean unbadged, "No Club Lone Wolf" attitude I reserve for the Hot Rods and modified hobby vehicles.

I believe mine came from the factory with no badges, so I consider that "stock" for my car.

I'm certainly not trying to hide the fact that it's a diesel. I just figure the car will speak ... errrr, clatter, for itself when the engine is running. Anyone who knows automotive sounds will know right away what the deal is under the hood, and anyone who can't figure it out (oh man, I think you're timing is off or something! That sounds awful!) ... I don't care about them.

VERY few times I've seen the factory debadge cars. If I order anything new again, it will be. It's usually a zero cost option, for stealth. My stripper 380SE with a 5.0 is one now.

Was it not a special option with the 6.9 to have the Mercedes badge removed at a cost of a $1000.-?

If I paint my car in the future I will leave the DIESEL badge off, I like the clean look.

Don't know if it cost that much. Anyone can take them off with some dental floss or light fishing line. The trick is the paint has to be good or you will see it!

As far as diesels go I like the european look, just the model number: 300d all by it self. I've never been a fan of "diesel", "turbo diesel", "turbo", or "2.5 trubo). It is repetitive, if you don't know what the "D" means too bad and it isn't really a good thing (not fast). 2 of my cars are euros so they only say 300d. If the blue car gets painted I'd like to debadge it, it makes the rear boot much cleaner.

Anyone know why so few 123's (us-spec) were debadged? Were owners really proud about owning a diesel? Maybe it was a status thing, I dunno.

I'm sure some of you guys have toyed with cutting an old "turbodiesel" badge and making a "biodiesel" badge instead? Think of it, the B is there, the I is there, and so is the O.
